One of the
reasons we were brought into this world is to serve humanity. Why? God, who
created us, formed & shaped us for relational influence. Our spiritual
& physical gifts, abilities, personalities, talents & experience are
for the purpose of serving God & humanity.
The Lord
Jesus Christ took upon himself, the service of humanity;
He served even till His death. He endured in the course of His service; He endured the cross & despised the shame.
He served even till His death. He endured in the course of His service; He endured the cross & despised the shame.
Likewise we,
as our Lord has shown to us, He expects us to do the same.

Service is
your ladder to greatness. The more you serve, the more you realize your
strength. You know when you're asked to do something; you might not know you
can until you put it to action. At that time, you're rendering a service to the
person who told you to do that thing. In order words, that person is helping
you to realize the area of your strength.
·
Another
thing is that service is the ladder you need to climb your destiny; your future
becomes inaccessible until you commit yourself to 'genuine' service and that's
very important. Most people serve, quite alright but it's not genuine which is
not right. Any service you want to render to anyone should be genuine and must
come from your heart.
·
Your destiny
can only be fulfilled with zeal to serve humanity.
·
Even, before
you can become a leader, you must serve and if you can't serve, you can't be a
leader because even as a leader, you must be ready to serve your followers. The
tragedy there is that if you eventually become a leader somewhere, you will not
know the effectiveness and what it takes to be a leader because you will think
you're being punished which is not but because you lack the capability of being
a leader.
·
Service
comes before Leadership

Life is full
of opportunities and it is your best service that will link you to them.
There is the
story of two men who were working as security guards in a supermarket. One of
them was faithful and committed to the job while the other was not.
One day, a
customer of the supermarket came to buy a few things and while leaving, he left
his suitcase on the table of the store attendant. The unfaithful guard saw it
but did as if he didn't. The customer was about to enter his car when the
honest guard called him to wait & gave him the suitcase. The man was very
happy and was grateful to the security guard. As a sign of gratitude, the
customer gave him is business card that he should call him before dusk. The
security guard did as he was told and on the phone, he was given an appointment
to resume work at the man's company the following day with official benefits;
official car, house, driver, etc.
Isn't it
interesting? Service to humanity made a man official personnel in a company
from the post of a Security guard.
I conclude with these quote; "Genuine service to humanity grants and
makes you an invaluable value" – Olusegun O. Pelemo.
